(1) Subject to
subsection (3) each polling place appointed under section 100(1)(a) or (c)
shall be a counting place.
(2) The returning
officer may, by notice published in a newspaper circulating in the district,
appoint such other counting places as he considers necessary for the district.
(3) The returning
officer may, by notice published in a newspaper circulating in the district,
declare that subsection (1) does not apply to a polling place specified in the
notice.
(4) The returning
officer shall appoint assistant returning officers to count, at counting
places referred to in subsection (1) or appointed under subsection (2), votes
cast at one or more polling places.
(5) This section does
not limit section 134(3).
