(1) In this section
—
advertise means advertise on the Commission
website and in any other way the Electoral Commissioner considers appropriate.
(2) Having received a
writ for an election the Electoral Commissioner must —
(a)
advertise the day of issue of the writ and the writ’s particulars; and
(b) as
soon as practicable after receiving the writ, advertise the place of
declaration of nominations appointed under section 85(1) for the election; and
(c)
publish whatever information the Electoral Commissioner considers necessary to
adequately inform electors about polling places at which the poll will be
taken and polling areas declared under section 100(1)(i) in relation to
polling places.
(3) The advertisement
under subsection (2)(a) must give at least 10 clear days’ public notice
of polling day.
