(1) Subject to
subsection (2), a candidate may withdraw his nomination by lodging with the
returning officer notice in writing of withdrawal of his nomination at any
time before the hour of nomination, and thereupon the nomination shall be
cancelled and the deposit lodged with the nomination shall be forfeited to the
Crown.
(2) The withdrawal of
the nomination of a candidate included in a group has no effect unless each
other candidate included in the group has consented in writing to the
withdrawal.
