(1) The Commissioner
is to be appointed by the Governor.
(2) Subject to this
Division, the Commissioner holds office for a period, not exceeding 7 years,
fixed by the instrument of appointment and is eligible for one or more further
appointments.
(3) Subject to the
Salaries and Allowances Act 1975 , the Commissioner is entitled to be paid
such remuneration as is determined by the Governor.
(3a) Remuneration paid
to the Commissioner under subsection (3) is to be charged to the Consolidated
Account 1 and this subsection appropriates the Consolidated Account 1
accordingly.
(4) The rate of
remuneration of the Commissioner is not to be reduced during a term of office
without the Commissioner’s consent.
(5) The Commissioner
is entitled to such leave of absence as the Governor determines.
(6) Subject to this
Division the Governor may determine other terms and conditions of service (if
any) that apply to the Commissioner.
