A police officer is to
investigate whether family violence is being, or has been committed, or
whether family violence is likely to be committed, if the police officer
reasonably suspects that a person is committing, or has committed, family
violence which —
(a) is a
criminal offence; or
(b) has
put the safety of a person at risk.
