(1) For the purposes
of sections 9, 12 and 13(2)(c) the following documents can be used as evidence
that a person has reached 18 years of age —
(a) a
current passport;
(b) a
current Australian driver’s licence;
(c) a
prescribed document,
that bears a
photograph of the person and indicates by reference to the person’s date
of birth or otherwise that the person has reached 18 years of age.
(2) A person must not,
for the purpose of obtaining a tobacco product or smoking implement use
—
(a)
another person’s document of identification; or
(b) a
document of identification that has been forged or tampered with.
Penalty: a fine of $100.
