Western Australian Current Regulations Western Australian Current Regulations (1) For the purposes
of section 127(5)(b), subject to subregulations (2), (3) and (4),
the Council for a school is to determine its composition —
(a)
having regard to —
(i)
the nature of the student population of the school and
the social, cultural, lingual, economic or geographic factors that may be
relevant to the school; and
(ii)
the functions of the Council and any changes in those
functions;
and
(b) with
a view to —
(i)
including members of the general community; and
(ii)
including members of the staff of the school in addition
to the principal; and
(iii)
including student members to whom regulation 105
applies; and
(iv)
allocating a membership position to a member of an
association referred to in section 149 in relation to the school or a
group of schools to which the school belongs.
(2) The Council for a
school is to have at least one member drawn from the persons referred to in
section 127(1)(a).
(3) If a school or a
group of schools to which the school belongs has a Parents and Citizens’
Association the association is entitled to nominate one of its members to be a
member of the Council for the school in the membership category referred to in
section 127(1)(a) or (b), as is relevant to the nominee.
(4) If a Council
operates for 2 or more schools jointly, the composition of the Council is to
be determined by the Minister.
