(1) The principal of a
government school or the security coordinator may order the temporary closure
of the whole or a particular part of the school’s premises —
(a) to
protect the health or safety of persons in the vicinity of the school’s
premises or the part of the premises to be closed; or
(b) to
protect or secure the school premises or the part of the premises to be closed
from damage or despoliation or further damage or despoliation.
(2) The order may be
for such period as is necessary for the purposes set out in
subregulation (1) but is of no effect if it purports to permanently close
the school premises or part of the school premises.
(3) Subject to
subregulations (1) and (2), an order may be made subject to conditions,
varied or revoked.
