NATIONAL TRAINING PROGRAMME: SYDNEY

The AustLII National Training Programme in Internet Legal Research, presented in conjunction with Continuing Legal Education (CLE) at UNSW, is being held in Sydney at UNSW on Thursday, 27 April 2006 and on Wednesday, 24 May 2006. Register early as places are limited.

This full day course provides a systematic introduction to Australian and international legal materials on the Internet, with an emphasis on those materials available for free access. The huge variety of free-access digital resources that have become available in recent years make them indispensable both to those who depend on free access, and to those who also have access to the commercial legal publishers' services. NEW JOURNAL DATABASE

"Journal of Australian Taxation"
The full text of the Journal of Australian Taxation from 2005 is now available on AustLII. See: <http://www.austlii.edu.au/au/journals/JATax/>


CCH AUSTLII SEARCH FACILITY ENHANCED

The CCH search facility which allows CCH customers to search over AustLII materials from the CCH website has been enhanced so that it now returns document hits with the search terms highlighted in the text.

AUSTLII NO 1 IN 2005

AustLII has won the 2005 Annual Hitwise No 1 Website Award. During 2005, we were ranked No 1, based on the number of unique visitors, against other Australian websites in the Business and Finance - Legal category. AustLII also picked up a Top 10 Website Award for ranking No 2 in the Education - Reference category.

NEW LEGAL PUBLISHERS SEARCH CONTENT

The CCH Managing Training and Development: industrial relations tab commentary has been updated to cover implications of the new Federal "Work Choices" scheme from 70-000 onwards.
