Public Health Amendment Bill 2020

A Bill for

An Act to amend the Public Health Act 1997









The Legislative Assembly for the Australian Capital Territory enacts as follows:

1 Name of Act

This Act is the Public Health Amendment Act 2020

.

2 Commencement

This Act is taken to have commenced on 16 March 2020.

3 Legislation amended

This Act amends the Public Health Act 1997

.

4 Compensation

New section 122 (3) (c)

insert

(c) in relation to any loss or damage suffered as a result of anything done in the exercise of a function under this part in relation to a COVID-19 declaration while the declaration was in force, except anything done in relation to a direction given under section 120 (1) (f).

5 Section 122 (4), new definition of COVID-19 declaration

insert

COVID-19 declaration—see section 119 (7).
