(1) A person, while on a fishing vessel in State waters, must not take,
or be in possession of, more than 5 sharks (other than elephantfish) for
commercial purposes unless the person is the holder of an appropriate
authority and is fishing in accordance with that authority.
Penalty: Grade 3 penalty.
(2) The holder of a scalefish licence must not, in State
waters (a) take more than 100 kilograms of elephantfish in any one
day; or
(b) be in possession of more than 100 kilograms of elephantfish at any
one time.
Penalty: Grade 3 penalty.
(3) The holder of a scalefish licence must not, in any one day, take
more than 5 elephantfish in a shark refuge area. Penalty: Grade 3
penalty.
