SENTENCING AMENDMENT (COMMUNITY CORRECTION REFORM) ACT 2011 (NO. 65 OF 2011) - SECT 25

After section 62 of the Sentencing Act 1991 insert —

        " 62A     Power to make fine default unpaid community work order    

    (1)     For the purposes of section 62(1) and (7), if the amount of a fine or an instalment remaining unpaid by a natural person is not more than an amount equivalent to the value of 100 penalty units, t he sentencing court for the person in default may make an order requiring the person to perform unpaid community work, as directed by the Regional Manager for the community corrections centre specified in the order, for a number of hours fixed in accordance with section 63(2).

    (2)     An order under subsection (1) may be made on application of the person in default.".
