(1) The Regulator must give the applicant a written notice setting out the decision of the Regulator under section 288(1) and the reasons for the decision within 10 business days after the application is made, unless that time period is earlier extended by the Regulator.
(2) An authorised officer who makes a decision under section 288(2) must give the applicant a written notice setting out the decision and the reasons for that decision within 10 business days after receiving the Regulator's recommendations under section 288(1)(c), unless that time period is earlier extended by the Regulator.
(3) If the Regulator extends the time period for giving a written notice under subsection (1) or (2), the Regulator must notify the applicant in writing and specify the extended period and the reasons for the extension.
(4) If the Regulator or an authorised officer does not give a notice to the applicant in accordance with this section, the Regulator or authorised officer is taken to have affirmed the decision that is subject to internal review.
