AustLII celebrated its 30th anniversary with a special event bringing together distinguished guests from the judiciary, government, legal profession, academia, and the wider community.
We were delighted to welcome our Guests of Honour - the Chief Justice of Australia, the Honourable Stephen Gageler AC, and the Attorney-General of Australia, the Honourable Michelle Rowland MP, who shared insightful reflections on AustLII’s journey and its enduring contribution to free access to law.
For three decades, AustLII has been dedicated to making the law freely available, supporting access to justice and the rule of law across Australasia and beyond. Looking ahead, AustLII is building on this solid foundation through new technological developments, including the use of AI and large language models, to make legal information more accessible, usable, and relevant.
These developments will improve how users find and engage with the law, providing more intuitive access to legal resources. The 30th anniversary represents both a significant milestone and the start of a new chapter in AustLII's ongoing work.
