TRADE PRACTICES ACT 1974 No. 51, 1974 - SECT 158

Protection of members of Tribunal or Commission, barristers and witnesses.
158. (1) A member of the Tribunal or a member of the Commission has, in the
performance of his duty as a member, the same protection and immunity as a
Justice of the High Court.

(2) A barrister, solicitor or other person appearing before the Tribunal or
the Commission on behalf of a person has the same protection and immunity as a
barrister has in appearing for a party in proceedings in the High Court.

(3) Subject to this Act, a person summoned to attend or appearing before the
Tribunal or the Commission as a witness has the same protection, and is, in
addition to the penalties provided by this Act, subject to the same
liabilities, in any civil or criminal proceedings as a witness in proceedings
in the High Court.
