131—Subsequent mortgagees or encumbrancees, may redeem prior mortgages

In case the money secured by any mortgage or encumbrance shall be due, and the
mortgagee or encumbrancee shall require payment of the same, it shall be
lawful for any other mortgagee or encumbrancee of the same land to tender and
pay to the mortgagee or encumbrancee requiring such payment, the money due
upon his security, and the mortgagee or encumbrancee making such payment shall
be entitled to a transfer of the estate and interest of the mortgagee or
encumbrancee requiring such payment.
