A recreational fishing licence authorises the licence holder to—
(a) take, or attempt to take, fish from marine waters or inland waters; and
(b) use or possess recreational fishing equipment in, on or next to Victorian waters.
Note
It is an offence under section 44 of the Act to take or attempt to take fish from marine waters or inland waters, or to use or possess recreational fishing equipment in, on or next to Victorian waters, unless authorised to do so by a recreational fishery licence, otherwise authorised under the Act or exempted from the requirement to hold a recreational fishery licence to carry out those activities.
