Victorian Numbered Regulations Victorian Numbered Regulations(1) A person who becomes the owner of a registered boat must, within 14 days after becoming the owner of the boat, apply to the Secretary for the transfer of the registration of the boat if the boat is to be used for one or more activities specified in regulation 72(1).
Penalty: 20 penalty units.
(2) The Secretary may transfer the registration of the boat if—
(a) he or she is satisfied that the boat is to be used for one or more activities specified in regulation 72(1); and
(b) the applicant has paid the prescribed fee for the transfer of the registration of the boat.
(3) On the transfer of the registration of the boat the Secretary must issue a certificate of registration in the name of the new owner of the boat that specifies—
(a) the registration number of the boat; and
(b) the identifying mark to be displayed on the boat.
