How to become a certificate assessor23. How to become a certificate assessor (1) A person may apply to the Authority to be authorised as a certificate assessor. (2) The application must- (a) be in the form determined by the Authority; and (b) be accompanied by- (i) evidence of the person's qualifications and experience; and (ii) any other documents needed to support any information supplied on the application form (if required by that form); and (iii) an application fee of $85. (3) If the Authority is satisfied that sub-regulation (2) has been complied with and that an applicant is likely to be able to competently perform the functions of a certificate assessor, the Authority must, upon the applicant paying a fee of $841, issue the applicant with a certificate that authorises the applicant to be a certificate assessor. (4) If the Authority decides to refuse to authorise an applicant to be a certificate assessor, the Authority must give the applicant a written notice of refusal that sets out the reasons for the refusal. (5) An applicant affected by a decision of the Authority under sub-regulation (4) has a right to be heard by the Authority in regard to the decision.
