CHILDREN, YOUTH AND FAMILIES ACT 2005 - SECT 7G

Secretary and community service providers to have regard to and give effect to recognition principles

    (1)     The Secretary must have regard to and give effect to the principles set out in section 7E (where relevant) in making any decision or taking any action under this Act—

        (a)     in relation to an Aboriginal child; or

        (b)     in relation to an Aboriginal family; or

        (c)     in relation to the planning or provision of services under this Act to Aboriginal children and Aboriginal families.

    (2)     A community service provider must have regard to and give effect to the principles set out in section 7E (where relevant) in making any decision or taking any action in relation to an Aboriginal child for whom it is providing, or is to provide, services under this Act.
